The assessment included a comprehensive assessment against the National Airports Safeguarding Framework Guidelines, as well as a solar glare hazard analysis of impacts on the adjacent airport operations using industry-standard software.
This included working with the Latrobe Regional Airport Board to communicate the results of the analysis, absorbing the Board and Council’s concerns regarding impacts to local flight training and other organisations and working with the proponent’s team to mitigate the impact to an acceptable level while preserving the viability of the proposals.
